Welcome to Dewey Childcare House! We strive to provide high quality, developmental childcare services for children aged newborn to 6 years. Our well-qualified and caring staff work cooperatively with parents to support the overall development of every child. The Dewey Childcare House (DCH) program is designed to meet each child’s unique, individual needs in a language-rich, multi-cultural setting. Our focus is on the development of the whole child in preparation for a successful transition to school. Each day, children at DCH have opportunities to actively engage in a variety of learning experiences designed to foster cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth and development.
Aims of DCH:
The general aims of education at DCH are:
to enable each child to live a full life as a child and to realise his or her potential as a unique individual
to enable each child to develop as a social being through living and cooperating with others and so contribute to the good of society
to prepare each child for a continuum of learning.
Dewey Childcare House is an active, student-centered environment where students learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills and use them in their local environment in preparation for the global environment. Our staff and students work together and our teaching methods focus on children “Learning by Doing”.
Dewey Childcare House brings to Battambang an education of international standard, with international teachers, and international teaching methods. Dewey Childcare House teaches students in both the Khmer language and in English, enabling them to find their place in both the local Cambodian community and in the wider international community.
